September 2015
Many thanks to Debra, the sister of one of our outreach clients, and her colleagues at Royal Bank of Scotland, Parklands at Horwich. Debra nominated Comco as her department’s named charity for July and they staged a number of events, raising a total of £500 towards the Social Nights and General Activities Fund. Phil and Hilary went along with Richard and Cliff from Darren Court to receive the cheque and express Comco’s appreciation for such a wonderful effort.

   Pet’s Corner

Many of Comco’s clients are animal lovers so we invite you all to send us your photos and tell us about your pets, so we can feature this in the next newsletter.
Comco was once again invited to appear on Bolton F.M.’s Community Corner Programme, this time to publicise the Sponsored Show at The Railway Club on 1st September. Paul and Cliff accompanied Phil Schofield and John Blakestone. Paul, who was one of the instigators of the Social Nights idea, told listeners about being part of the organising committee, whilst Cliff entertained everyone by rehearsing his rendition of Summer Holiday live on air.

Clifford Jones, along with staff based at Head Office, said good-bye to Dunscar House at Deakins Park, where he has cleaned the offices for the last 10 years. His work now continues each Friday at the Courtyard and he has quickly learned the new routines required of him. Our thanks to Clifford for his continuing input in the smooth running of the office.

Liverpool
Stewart Cameron has been enjoying travelling around the county with support worker Tom, using their bus passes. On a trip to Liverpool he found the Titanic Exhibition at The Maritime Museum most interesting. Wigan, Chorley, Stockport and Manchester Media City have been other places he has been to.
Another piece of news is that Stewart has taken up Karate and his tutor has been so impressed with his progress, that he put him forward for an award. Stewart’s prize will be a meal for 3 at the De Vere Whites’ Hotel Stewart is taking his mum and her partner. He attends Karate at North West Warriors off Bury Road
